Solid Brass Engraved Plaque (1412) Sir R Swynborne & Son Gold Essex (30 x16cm's) A rare brass plaque of Sir R Swynborne & Son, circa 1412, from Little Horkesley, Essex, England. It's a detailed engraving on a wall mountable, solid brass plaque featuring the knight and his son, both in prayer positions. The characters are set within detailed fine arches and contains animal sigil references, from the medieval period. There is an inscription on the foot of the plaque and it comes lined with green felt on the reverse and has hooks ready to hang and a detailed explanation of the history of brass plaques on the reverse. The plaque is in good condition for it's age but has some wear and will probably have been used as for brass rubbings at a previous time. The plaque measures 30cm's in height x 16cm's in length x 2cm's in depth.
